This weeks fic club meeting was about "In Field First Aid". We decided on a small little SGA fic. Discussion it was so great - I had a lot of fun. Thanks to all participants.

Pandora's Box by tielan

• I really loved their team dynamic and I felt like the author captured their personality and speech well
• I loved it! It definitely had that aura of mystery to it, as well as the typical sga humor.
• I didn't expect the force field to keep things in
• I really liked Johns constant internal struggled. Of wanting to keep going while simultaneously also wanting to just stop. That constant back and forth was probably my favorite thing about the entire story.
• i really loved the atmosphere between the video recording and when john is hurt. the suspense was great because you knew something was going to happen but it was dragged out really nicely
• A trust that was well founded. They each had moments where they went above and beyond the call.
• What scene gave you Whumperflies:
  
  • John passing out on the control room floor
  • John losing time and suddenly Ronon kneels in front of him.
  • the team having to hold John down so they could remove the shrapnel, and how the author described his pain and seeing stars. Ronon going through John's vest while he was fading in and out. And when they fell into the gate room and he passed out
  • I really did like all of it. The whump was pretty spectacular, my favorite part was probably everything from Teyla's last stand to waking up coherent
